Dr. Hernandez then began to flourish in his profession as founder and president of the Baja California Endodontic Association in 1986. He is also past president of the Mexican Association of Endodontics from 2011-2013. He was also the founder and director of the first Endodontic Microscope Teaching Center in Los Algodones, Baja California Mexico.
He is an Associate member of the American Association of Endodontists, Founder member of International Academy of Endodontics and serves in the University of Yucatan as a visiting professor in the Department of Endodontics by teaching Residents in Micro-endodontics and micro-surgery.
Dr. Hernandez Mejia was the first Endodontist to introduce the use of Surgical Microscope in private practice and to teach in different Endodontic Universities, the use of modern micro-endodontics in Mexico. He finally decides to practice full time as an Endodontist in Los Algodones since 1990.
Then, in 1994 Dr Hernandez Mejia continued his education by attending the course held at the Pacific Endodontic Research Foundation in La Jolla California. This course was provided by the mentorship of Dr. Gary Carr, father of the Use of Modern Surgical Operating Microscope in Non surgical and surgical Endodontics Procedure.
Dr. Jose Armando Hernandez Mejia, has not only left a mark in his professions pathway but has also, given those the light towards a different world in endodontics. He has lecture in different Endodontics programs in the USA, Mexico, Central America, South America and Europe.

Dr. Jose Armando Hernandez Mejia Graduated from the Technological University of Mexico in Mexico City in 1980. For the following two years he practiced in Mexico City as general practician. Bythe end of 1981, he moved to Monterrey, Nuevo Leon where he then obtained in 1983 his Degree as an Endodontist at the University of Nuevo Leon.
Dr Hernandez Mejia returned to his hometown, Mexicali, Baja California where he practice for the next two years. He finally make the decision to move to the capital of Dentistry, Los Algodones B.C. . Meanwhile, he also had a part time dental office in San Luis RC Sonora Mexico, 20 minutes distance in between.
